Package Overview

This 5-day camping safari is designed for travelers who want an authentic, high-value Tanzania experience without the premium price tag of lodge-based safaris. Using public campsites and a shared safari vehicle, this itinerary covers three of the Northern Circuit’s biggest highlights — Tarangire, Ngorongoro Crater, and the Serengeti — proving that a smaller budget doesn’t mean a smaller adventure.

ITINERARY

Day 1: Arusha to Tarangire National Park

Depart Arusha after breakfast for Tarangire National Park, known for its massive elephant herds and iconic baobab trees. Afternoon game drive along the Tarangire River. Overnight camping at a public campsite in or near Tarangire, with meals prepared by your camping crew.

Day 2: Tarangire to Serengeti National Park

Depart Tarangire and drive to the Serengeti, entering via Naabi Hill Gate with a game drive en route to camp. Overnight camping at a public campsite in the Serengeti.

Day 3: Serengeti National Park

Full day of game drives exploring the Serengeti’s plains, tracking lion, leopard, cheetah, and — depending on season — the Great Migration herds. Overnight camping in the Serengeti.

Day 4: Serengeti to Ngorongoro Conservation Area

Morning game drive before departing the Serengeti for Ngorongoro, arriving in time to settle into camp on the crater rim, with sweeping views into the caldera below.

Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater – Return to Arusha

Descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for a final game drive among one of Africa’s densest concentrations of wildlife. In the afternoon, ascend and drive back to Arusha, arriving in the evening.
