ITINERARY

Day 1: Arrival – Kilimanjaro Airport to Arusha

Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport (KIA), where you’ll be met and welcomed by your Mbogo Expeditions representative. Transfer to your hotel in Arusha for check-in and a relaxed evening. Accommodation: Arusha

After breakfast, depart Arusha for Tarangire National Park, famous for its enormous elephant herds and baobab-studded landscape. Afternoon game drive along the Tarangire River. Overnight in or near Tarangire. Accommodation: Tarangire

Start the day with a guided walking safari in a designated area outside the core park, accompanied by an armed ranger, for a closer, slower experience of the bush and its smaller details — tracks, plants, and birdlife. In the afternoon, continue with a traditional game drive deeper into the park. Overnight in Tarangire. Accommodation: Tarangire

Depart Tarangire and drive to Lake Manyara National Park. Spend the day on a game drive through the park’s groundwater forest and along the shores of the alkaline lake, known for tree-climbing lions, large elephant herds, and flocks of flamingos. Overnight near Lake Manyara or in Karatu. Accommodation: Karatu

Travel to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, arriving in time for a game drive along the crater rim or a visit to a viewpoint overlooking the caldera. Overnight on the Ngorongoro Crater rim or in Karatu. Accommodation: Karatu

Full day descent into the Ngorongoro Crater for an in-depth game drive across its floor — one of Africa’s densest concentrations of wildlife, including the “Big Five” and resident black rhinos. Overnight on the Ngorongoro Crater rim or in Karatu. Accommodation: Ngorongoro

  • Depart Ngorongoro and travel to the Serengeti, arriving in the Seronera Valley — the ecological heart of the park and one of the best year-round areas for predator sightings. Afternoon game drive in search of lion, leopard, and cheetah. Overnight in central Serengeti. Accommodation: Serengeti

Full day exploring further areas of the Serengeti’s vast plains, following wildlife movement and, depending on the season, the Great Migration herds. Morning and afternoon game drives with your guide tracking the best current wildlife activity. Overnight in the Serengeti. Accommodation: Serengeti

After a final morning game drive, transfer to the Seronera airstrip for your scheduled flight to Zanzibar. Arrive on the island and transfer to your hotel in Stone Town, with the rest of the day free to relax after your safari. Accommodation: Stoe Town Zanzibar

Explore the historic streets of Stone Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, visiting landmarks such as the old Slave Market, House of Wonders, and the bustling local bazaars. In the afternoon, drive to Kizimkazi village on the south coast to visit Salaam Cave, a striking natural limestone cave and marine sanctuary where you can swim alongside sea turtles in crystal-clear water. Return to Stone Town in the evening. Accommodation: Stone Town

Transfer to your beach resort (e.g., Pwani Mchangani, Nungwi, or Kendwa) and spend the day relaxing on Zanzibar’s white-sand beaches. Free time to swim, unwind, or arrange optional water activities. Accommodation: Stone Town

A second full free day at leisure on the beach — perfect for exploring the local area, spa treatments, snorkeling, or simply enjoying the ocean views. Accommodation: Stone Town

After breakfast, check out and transfer to Abeid Amani Karume International Airport (ZNZ) for your departure flight.
