7 Day Mid July-Sept Great Migration Luxury Safari overview
Witness one of nature’s greatest wildlife spectacles on a 7-Day Great Migration Luxury Safari in Tanzania, specially designed for travellers visiting between mid-July and September. Journey into the northern Serengeti during the period when large herds of wildebeest and zebra move toward the Mara River region in search of fresh grazing and water.
This carefully crafted luxury safari combines exceptional wildlife experiences with premium accommodation, personalized service and the breathtaking landscapes of Northern Tanzania. Spend meaningful time in the Serengeti, following the seasonal movements of the herds while enjoying expertly guided game drives across one of Africa’s most iconic wilderness areas.
The Northern Serengeti provides the dramatic setting for one of the most anticipated stages of the Great Migration. During this period, migrating herds may gather around the Mara River before making their way between Tanzania and Kenya. A river crossing, when it occurs, can be an extraordinary wildlife spectacle, but its timing and exact location are unpredictable and depend on natural conditions. The experience is therefore focused on following the herds and maximizing opportunities for authentic wildlife encounters rather than promising a particular crossing.
Beyond the migration, the Serengeti offers exceptional year-round wildlife viewing. During your game drives, look for lions, leopards, cheetahs, elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, buffalo and numerous other species that inhabit the ecosystem.
Your luxury experience extends beyond the game drives. Stay in carefully selected luxury lodges and premium tented camps, chosen for their location, comfort, atmosphere and access to wildlife areas. Depending on your itinerary and availability, additional experiences such as private game drives, hot-air balloon safaris, sundowners and exclusive bush dining can add another dimension to your safari.
With Mbogo Expeditions, your journey is planned around your travel dates and the seasonal movement of the Great Migration. Our experienced safari team can adapt the itinerary according to current wildlife conditions, giving you the best possible opportunity to experience the northern migration while maintaining a comfortable and exclusive pace.
Whether you are celebrating a honeymoon, anniversary, milestone occasion or simply fulfilling a lifelong dream of seeing the Great Migration, this seven-day luxury safari offers an unforgettable combination of wildlife, exclusivity, comfort and adventure in Tanzania.
