ITINERARY
Day 1: Arrival in Zanzibar – Stone Town
Arrive at Abeid Amani Karume International Airport (ZNZ) and transfer to your hotel in Stone Town. Spend the rest of the day relaxing and settling in, with the evening free to explore at your own pace. Accommodation: Stone Town Zanzibar
Day 2: Stone Town Tour, Spice Farms & Salaam Cave
Morning guided walking tour through the historic alleys of Stone Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, visiting landmarks such as the old Slave Market, House of Wonders, and the bustling bazaars. Continue to a nearby spice farm to learn about Zanzibar’s history as the “Spice Island,” sampling cloves, nutmeg, vanilla, and other aromatic crops. In the afternoon, drive south to Kizimkazi village to visit Salaam Cave, a striking natural limestone cave and marine sanctuary where you can swim alongside sea turtles in crystal-clear water. Day 3: Nungwi Beach & Mnemba Island
Transfer north to Nungwi, home to some of Zanzibar’s most beautiful white-sand beaches. In the morning, take a boat trip out to Mnemba Island, a small private atoll surrounded by a protected marine reserve, renowned as one of the best snorkeling spots in the region — look out for colorful reef fish, sea turtles, and, if lucky, dolphins along the way. Day 4: Zanzibar to Pemba Island
After breakfast, transfer to the airport or ferry terminal for your journey to Pemba Island, known for its dramatic coral cliffs, dense clove plantations, and far fewer visitors than Zanzibar’s main island. Day 5: Pemba Island & Mesali Island
Full day exploring Pemba’s highlights, including a boat trip to Mesali Island, a small uninhabited island surrounded by a protected marine conservation area, ideal for snorkeling amid pristine coral reefs and diverse marine life. Day 6: Pemba Island
A second full day on Pemba to explore further — options include visiting local clove and spice plantations, exploring the historic ruins at Ras Mkumbuu, or simply enjoying Pemba’s quieter beaches and diving sites, renowned among scuba divers for their dramatic drop-offs and healthy coral walls. Day 7: Pemba back to Zanzibar
After breakfast, transfer back to Zanzibar (Unguja) by air or ferry. Spend your final day at leisure — relaxing at your hotel, last-minute souvenir shopping in Stone Town, or simply enjoying the ocean views. Overnight in Zanzibar. Accommodation: Zanzibar
Day 8: Departure
After breakfast, check out and transfer to Abeid Amani Karume International Airport for your flight back home.
